If you are choosing a juicer for the first time you may well need some help and advice, as after all this is an investment in your health as well as your taste buds.
Firstly you need to choose what kind of juicer you are after, a citrus, veg or wheatgrass juicer.
While some juicers can claim to do all three, they rarely do such a good job as one which is dedicated to one task. Generally speaking if you are looking to do mainly oranges and grapefruit then you should invest in a citrus juicer, as it will quickly and efficiently juice a half fruit into an open container.
If you think that you will prefer carrots, apples, celery and other non citrus fruit, then go for a vegetable juicer which can handle most types of fruit and veg except citrus. You literally just pop in chopped up bits of fruit or veg, or a mix and the juicer does the rest for you in no time at all, leaving just the pulp behind for you to dispose of.
A wheatgrass juicer is something different altogether and personally I have never tried it. It is rated for its health benefits rather than for the taste. A regular juicer cannot get all the nutrients out of the wheatgrass hence a special device is needed.
